The Best Way to Roll

Hawkinson, a 79-year-old business based in Maple Grove, Minn., manufactures tire retreading equipment and has franchises nationwide. The company pioneered the band-type mold system for retreading tires that enables multiple retreads on one casing. That, in turn, allows fleet owners and others to get more miles out of their tires and keep more dollars in their pockets. The alternative to the Hawkinson method is the pre-cure system, in which pre-cured tire treads are affixed to tire casings. While it is a little faster for the franchisee to retread tires with pre-cure, it is more expensive and results in an inferior retread. We developed two brochures for Hawkinson. “The Best Way to Roll” spells out for potential franchisees the business advantages of the Hawkinson method over other retreading systems. “The Path of Least Resistance,” help franchisees sell their services to prospects such as truck drivers and fleet owners.
