The West Fargo Soccer Club (WFSC) is a community-based, non-profit athletic club that offers recreational and competitive soccer programs for kids kindergarten through age 19. The club is in the midst of a transition from a small, local club in West Fargo that only offered one program (summer competitive for kids ages 9-19) to a larger club that offers year-round programming (spring, summer and fall recreational; summer and fall competitive; and winter academy training) for kids throughout the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo metropolitan area and surrounding region. Kousa International, Los Angeles, one of the largest importers and exporters of paper products in North America, buys, sells and handles logistics for recovered and prime paper all over the world. The company is the exclusive purchasing agent for a mill in Indonesia, and it handles more than 200,000 metric tons of volume a year. FredComm worked with Clay County Public Health (CCPH) and its regional partners in the Smoke-Free Air for Everyone (SAFE) Coalition to heighten awareness regarding the dangers of secondhand smoke exposure and encourage grassroots activism. Over a two-year period, we used the anniversaries of the adoption of a smoke-free workplace ordinance in Moorhead, Minn. as a platform for educational and grassroots organizational campaigns aimed at strengthening and extending the ordinance. The company pioneered the band-type mold system for retreading tires that enables multiple retreads on one casing.
